Grapplers Quest U.S. Nationals & Copa Atlantica
by omaraj178 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Is anyone planning on competing in the Grapplers Quest (National & U.S. Pro Trials 6/28, Copa Atlantica 6/29)? I plan on attending and would like to set up a group to meet on Sunday to train for this tournament. We should try to cover every weight class and take home the team trophy

Guys, for every Grapplers Quest tournament you gotta register at the academy, all Renzo`s students should register at the front desk. We had a meeting with the president of grapplers quest so we can organize our team better. And by registering at the academy we know how many of you guys are competing and we can support you guys better at the tournament by sending coaches to help you out during competition day. Like Omar said: Let`s set up the team to clean the house.
Take care guys

I'm planning on competing, though I probably can't commit to anything on Sundays. I know a few others who are planning on heading out there as well for this.
Thanks for the reminder about signing up at the academy, Rolles. I almost pre-registered on the website the other day.

I think is great that can be a team that will prepare together for this. Now, can the white belts take part on the training team also?

I don't see why not It’s informal so everyone competing should try and take part. I am a try believer that your only as good as your training partner. I went through a period of time that I was executing a lot of arm bars. People where asking me what I was doing to finish the arm bar so clean and effectively. I told as many people as I could and after that I wasn’t able to submit anyone in class with that arm bar. The good news is that because of this I was forced to develop a good omoplata probably better than my arm bar. To make a long story short I submitted one of my opponents from another school this arm bar. You can see the video on facebook groups Renzo Gracie Academy NY Here is the link http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=509825483802&oid=35960080466
