Big Congrats to Sakurinho for getting silver in the Purple Belt 150 to 160lbs division this weekend!
This was Sak's first time back at a competition after a 10 month stop due to a serious shoulder injury ( two torn ligaments ) from last year's Mundials.
After going on to have surgery in December, Sakurinho worked really hard to get back in competitive shape and focused enough to compete.
I'm very happy to see that he got all the way to the final, and that he had a chance to test his skills and preparation against one of the best grapplers in the country, Josh"Sloth"Vogel!
A big shout out to all the Renzo Guys today who fought hard and medaled in the GI divisions, Gianni "Born To Fight" Grippo, Decater James, Sergio Abe, Bruno "19 points to Zero" Barbossa, Ramon's Brotha Renat, Kung Fu Nina, Eugene, Mike, Mark, Alex and all the others who I forget the names of!
Also big congrats to Dave Genat for winning his 5th Grapplers Quest in a row in the Blue Belt Cruiserweight Division, and to Joao "Hamburgao" for 5 great matches in the Blue belt lightweight division that led him to the gold medal!!!
Joao was on fire, I hope he posts the videos soon!!
